Devin Haney said on Instagram that he would like to rematch Ryan Garcia under different conditions and at an “agreed weight.” Previously undefeated Haney suffered the most humiliating loss of his career and said he wanted a “fair” deal in the rematch.

Haney (31-1, 15 KOs) still holds the WBC light welterweight title, but the rematch will likely take place without the belt on the line. He says Ryan can't go below 143. That doesn't look promising for Haney. T
Ryan has better things to do.
Ryan, a marketing genius, has shown little interest in fighting Haney again. He is interested in fighting Gervonta Davis, Sabastian Fundora and Jaron “Boots” Ennis. Ryan's attitude appears to be, “I've been there, and I've done that.” He sees no point in fighting Haney a second time.
A rematch with Haney would be beyond anything Ryan has ever done before, and it probably wouldn't sell. Their fight last Saturday night definitely would have ended in seven rounds if a different referee had been in charge of the fight.
Haney was stuffed in the seventh inning and dropped four times, but the umpire only counted one of them.
It's a miracle that the battle continued. Most agree that the fourth knockdown was more than enough to stop the fight, and that the referee should have ruled it out during the round.
A plea for a “fair” fight
Haney said he wants to give fans a “fair fight” at a weight he agrees with Ryan (25-1, 20 KOs). The emphasis on a “fair” fight appears to be Haney's move to deflect a wave of negative criticism over his 12-round majority decision loss.
“I feel like the weight has an effect on that.” Devin Haney said on Instagram that he blamed Ryan Garcia's weight for the loss and wanted a rematch.
Haney has spoken of a “fair fight” and appears to be hoping for special conditions for a rematch at weight.
It's clear what Haney will do to win the rematch. He would use his hit-and-run style to make it ugly. This would be the style Haney employed against Regis Prograis, but he is difficult to deal with because he moves and holds.
