OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. – The Olympic Valley Public Service District Board of Directors has formally introduced an ordinance to adopt an increase in water, sewer, and trash fees and revised the District Bylaws. On April 30, the board waived the reading of the ordinance.
The bill is scheduled for a vote on May 28 at a public hearing at the district office, 305 Olympic Valley Road in Olympic Valley.
If approved, the new fees would go into effect from July 1.
In July 2023, the district increased water and sewer rates by 5% and garbage rates by 10%.

Property owners may submit a written protest detailing property information and objections prior to the public hearing.

Submissions by fax or email are not accepted.
Property owner protests must be received before the public hearing closes on May 28. Your protest must include a description of your property (parcel number or physical address), the type of charge being protested, your printed name, and your signature. The person signing must appear on the district directory.
Billing records, Placer County Assessor's records, or other written evidence that the signer has authority to sign on behalf of a trust, corporation, partnership, etc.
There is one protest per lot, and the lot must have working water or sewer service. If you acquired real property since the last Placer County tax return was issued, please include written confirmation that you own the property.
If more than half of the property owners and/or customers file a written protest against any of the three proposed rate increases, the district will not impose those increases.
The district says rate adjustments are necessary to adequately fund infrastructure needs, programs, operations and maintenance costs, and capital improvements to water and wastewater services. The proposed fee is calculated to recover the cost of providing the service prorated among the customer classes.
Connection fees, fire sprinkler equipment, plan confirmation fees, fire hydrant/temporary water usage fees, permit fees, meter rental fees, sewer easement processing fees, application fees, temporary sewage disposal fees, and temporary sewer installation fees are not included. yeah. , temporary sewer inspection fees, disconnection fees, dumping/leakage fees, and other fees.
