Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiu is looking to make a statement in his comeback fight at ONE Fight Night 21: Arcel vs. Nicholas on Prime Video.
The Filipino star is scheduled to face “Little Whirlwind” Wang Shuo in a bantamweight mixed martial arts bout on Friday, April 5, in prime time in the United States, and against his Chinese opponent at Lumpini Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. He thinks that will do his best.
Both fighters have experience in the powerful striking techniques of martial arts, and “The Juggernaut'' knows he is the winner in a duel.
He said of the king:
“He's a striker. I think he has a foundation in martial arts that makes him a dangerous fighter, especially as a Chinese fighter. In the fight with Ryuko Wada, his striking base I was impressed.
“The only question mark here is what he'll do at bantamweight. He's moved up from flyweight, but I don't know if he's gotten stronger or slower. We'll see that in the fight. .”
Pacatiu believes versatility will be key on April 5, as both players prefer a stand-up game.
The 27-year-old has worked hard to become a complete mixed martial artist since he last competed in MMA, competing in both kickboxing and grappling competitions.
'The Juggernaut' will look to finish off his 29-year-old opponent with his ever-expanding skillset, but he will also try to avoid being overly aggressive.
“I'm confident that I can fight with him no matter where the fight is. But being confident doesn't mean I'm letting my guard down and I have to be really careful. You can get really sneaky with your attacks.
“I want to prove that I'm a well-rounded fighter. I want to mix it all up. When the opportunity comes to knock him out or make him submit, I'm going to go for it.
“It's hard to predict, but all I can say is that hands will go up after the game.”
Pacatiu excited to move to Lions Nation MMA
A lot has happened since Jeremy Pacatiu last beat Tial Tan at ONE 164.
The Philippine MMA landscape experienced a major change when there was a mass exodus from Team Lakay to the newly formed Lions Nation MMA team. Pacatiu was also one of the players transferred.
It was a difficult choice, but 'The Juggernaut' has no regrets during his first full fight camp with Lions Nation.
He explained:
“The preparation has been great. I'm excited. I'm continuing to work hard every day to get back in the ring in the best shape possible.”
“It was a difficult decision to move to Lions Nation MMA. It was risky. In any case, we have the freedom to make our own decisions, but those decisions always have consequences and consequences. .
“In hindsight, I think we made the right decision. We have a world champion now and we've built some good momentum with some wins and we're looking forward to keeping that momentum going.”
Pacatiu is lucky to be a part of Lions Nation MMA, as Filipino icon Eduardo “Landslide” Folayan runs the ship and the team includes most of the country's biggest names. I feel it.
“The Juggernaut” works with elite training partners such as former ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon and current No. 2 Bantamweight MMA Ranking Stephen “The Sniper” Roman With the glory of a title, you know that the world has everything in place to chase your dreams.
he added:
“The atmosphere here is great. It's a really collaborative effort. We watch the games together, we scout and study, we give our opinions on what to do, we each come up with a game plan that we can come up with. I will help.
“But the person in charge of everything is still Eduardo. I feel very secure with Eduardo as our coach. He listens to our opinions and suggestions. He understands where we come from. He takes care of what we need. He focuses on what needs to be done.
“That's very helpful.” [Belingon and Loman] around it. It's a blessing to have these two great fighters in the same weight class. They really push me to be a better, more complete fighter. ”
