Aiden “Mango” Mills of Laurent Olympic Boxing returned to action last Saturday in Ashland.
Mills, 16, boxed with Kayden Gibson of Portsmouth, Ohio.
“Mango” scored an impressive second round TKO. He displayed a ferocious combination of punches to the body and head, but it proved to be too much for his opponent.
Mills, who improved his record to 5-2 (2 KOs), will next compete in Owensboro on June 1st.
The event featured an amateur boxing competition first and a professional boxing show as the finale. It was sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club of Westwood and sanctioned by USA Boxing.
Later that night, Jerry Laurent, owner of Laurent's Olympic Boxing, was hired to prepare and corner main event pro Travis “Rattlesnake” Hanshaw to become UBO North American Cruiserweight Champion.
Hanshaw had the upper hand from the start. Use jab and lead hook to control distance. Then, in the second round, Hanshaw got his revenge, knocking his opponent to the floor three times before the championship fight was halted by the referee.
