Kate Abdo has a chance to make her boxing dreams come true, according to her partner Malik Scott.
Abdo, a talented sports presenter, has been given a spot on Misfits Cards, a promotion founded by YouTuber turned boxer KSI.
Scott, a former professional fighter who currently trains former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and his other half, said Abdo's in-ring debut is not far off, which could be late 2024, and that he is looking forward to seeing her in action. He said it was unlikely he would see it. I will upload her work as a presenter.
He told Casino Online In: “Kate has been offered the Misfits action, but we need to arrange her dates. We all know who will be training her for it.
“This is something we will be working on at the appropriate time, and it probably won't happen as early as this summer, but keep an eye out.
“She can really fight, she’s very good technically and she has a great work ethic.
“Technically, her bass is very good and she throws powerful combinations.
“She knows a lot about boxing because of her job.
“She is very interested in putting into practice the skills she learned from her partner and I am rooting for her.
“I haven't chosen my opponent yet.”
Abdo first worked for Sky Sports as a broadcast presenter with expertise in football, but also started his career in boxing covering pay-per-view events.
In addition to hosting the Squared Circle Show on streaming service DAZN, she also worked with boxing promotion Premier Boxing Champions.
Now, she is gaining even more notoriety for her role as chief presenter for CBS Sports' Champions League broadcasts.
KSI's Misfits Boxing label has provided opportunities for many celebrities to showcase their talents at a level below the sport's professional ranks.
Abdo has spoken out about the opportunity to fight himself, which also opened the door to a matchup with reality TV star Katie Price.
She said: “Why not? Listen, I'll fight anyone. I'll fight anyone they put in front of me.”
“I haven't watched much of 'Misfits,' so I honestly don't know what the meaningful fight is.
“But if I had to camp in Los Angeles for a few months before the fight, yeah, I would have been depressed.”
And if she can keep Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher in check, she'll definitely be able to handle anyone put in front of her.
