Former undisputed world titlist Jessica McCaskill heads to Cardiff to take on Olympic gold medalist Lauren Price, live on Sky Sports on May 11.
The decorated champion is looking to once again successfully defend his WBA belt at welterweight, where he has never tasted defeat.
Price is only 6-0 as a professional, but will aim to become Wales' first women's world champion.
“I don't know much about her and what she's done. I saw her fight Kirsty Babbington, but that's it. I'm from America, but that's not unusual. 2 It's like two different worlds,” McCaskill told Sky Sports.
She warned: “Every fight I've had has helped me get better. Lauren Price hasn't had many professional fights, so that should help me get better.
“Amateurs are amateurs, professionals are professionals, and you can't mix the two.”
Price may not match MacAskill's professional experience, but many still support her victory. MacAskill appears to be aware of the danger posed by a young, hungry challenger.
“Lauren is smart enough to not do certain things and make herself available in certain situations. Here's the plan: [about] I’m getting to the point where I can land clean punches,” Chicago’s McCaskill said.
“I saw a lot of mistakes from her opponents. [where I’m] You ask why I did this? And I couldn't see it anymore. We want to make sure we're smart. Trim the ring appropriately.
“The fight could be me cornering her or me fighting her hold. I've seen especially in the women's fight that there's a hit-and-hold game. The European fighters will hold up. .”
“I'm not relying on anything specific. I see certain operations from her. I don't know if she has that level of boxing maturity yet, but I We'll take a look.”
For the 39-year-old McCaskill, who has risen to the top, competing in his 11th consecutive world title fight is no mean feat.
“There's a lot of things behind boxing that people don't talk about, and I think those are really important elements, especially now that things from the past are in the spotlight,” she said.
“These old deals and contracts were costing people money. We did things the right way and that's why we're here today to talk about it.”
MacAskill, a two-division world champion, is looking to get into enemy territory and improve his reputation going into the fight.
“Look, I can travel here and make a name for myself and steal fans,” she declared.
“I want to put on a great show. You all have great boxing fans.”
MacAskill believes this fight could potentially pit her against another British world champion, IBF welterweight titleholder Natasha Jonas.
“Natasha and I have been talking and I would love to fight Natasha. She has a lot of fans and although she is nearing the end of her career, there is no doubt that she deserves more title fights before it ends.” No,” McCaskill said.
“I know Jonas is technical and experienced. She's definitely the prize at the end of the rainbow that I'm looking for.”
