Jiray “Big Bang” Zhang is scheduled to take on former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder on June 1st at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This heavyweight bout between two of the world's biggest punchers today is the next in line for undisputed light heavyweight supremacy between undefeated champions Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev. It will be featured as part of the match's undercard.
Zhang has lost two of his last four matches. He lost a close and somewhat controversial unanimous decision to Filip Hrgovic, won two impressive stoppage victories over then-highly regarded giant Joe Joyce, and most recently, Joseph Parker. He lost by majority decision. Back in March.
Wilder, on the other hand, has lost three of his last four fights. He was stopped in his second and third fights with Tyson Fury, stopped Robert Helenius in his opening round, and lost a lopsided unanimous decision to Joseph Parker last December.
Despite the fact that Zhang and Wilder have only won three of their last eight fights combined, it's easy to believe that the two have lost their form, but this is still a very interesting matchup. There is no difference. These two are older, both are coming off losses, and both have devastating knockout power. In fact, Wilder and Zhang are arguably two of the hardest punchers in boxing today. The nuclear right of the Bronze Bomber versus the nuclear left of Big Bang Chan. Naturally, power is the last thing a boxer loses as they get older, and Wilder and Zhang each have their own flaws, so we expect someone to get brutally knocked out in this bout. .
