Dan Hardy admits PFL has 'a lot of things we could do differently'
In a recent show, MMA hourHardy noted that White continued to mock the PFL and Bellator.
“PFL/Bellator, PFLlator, Dana White called me that the other day and I thought it was really funny. We're not perfect!” Hardy said of White's comments. “Absolutely, there are a lot of things we could do differently, but we have a huge stake in mixed martial arts. A lot of good things are happening and we are moving forward. It's a very small company compared to…
“When we go to the game next week, they're going to pretty much take over the hotel. We're not operating at that level yet, but we're moving in that direction. Participating in things where I can have a direct impact. I’m proud to do it,” Hardy continued. “We need to listen to these conversations [fans] I have it because [the fans] Really make a good point. And the only way PFL/Bellator will continue to grow is by listening to its fans. The league format presents challenges as a matchmaker. But at the same time, the audacity of doing something different is attracting a certain amount of attention. ”
Hardy and White's relationship has been fraught since the UFC parted ways with Hardy following multiple controversies. One of them was a heated altercation with referee Herb Dean after a questionable stoppage at a UFC Fight Night event.
White also accused Hardy of abusing female UFC employees, an accusation that Hardy categorically denies. The nature of the abuse mentioned is unknown.
With the merger of PFL and Bellator, some wondered if the combined entity could one day compete with the UFC. If Hardy's comments are any indication, PFL still needs to make changes and gradually evolve to make that argument a reality.
