On Thursday, West Virginia University football's 2025 freshman class doubled in size as two players announced their commitment to the Mountaineers on social media. Defensive back Zach Jackson (Huntington, West Virginia) and offensive lineman Thomas Barr (Haverford, Pennsylvania) have both committed to WVU football for the 2025 season.
Jackson is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound cornerback from Huntington High School. He is a three-star recruit according to both 247Sports and Rivals. He is currently 247Sports' No. 1 prospect in West Virginia, and he is the No. 68 cornerback nationally in the 2025 class.
Last year, he had 33 total tackles, one fumble recovery, six pass deflections and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. He also ran for 850 yards and 12 touchdowns on 121 attempts on offense. WVU beat Akron, Appalachian State, Eastern Kentucky and Marshall with his dedication.
Barr is a 6-foot-3, 290-pound interior offensive lineman from Haverford College in Pennsylvania. He was currently not being evaluated by recruiting services and had an offer from the University of Massachusetts.
Tyshawn Duce, a three-star wide receiver from West Virginia and Hurricane High School, and three-star quarterback Scotty Fox (Mentor, Ohio) are the other two members of next year's Mountaineers recruiting class.
