On Tuesday, Woodhaven High School's Jimmy Olbrich signed a national letter to continue his academic and athletic career at Oakland University.
Olbrich plans to play ice hockey at Osaka University.
Congratulations to James Olbrich on playing ACHA D1 hockey at Auckland University. A talented student-athlete who does his job in the classroom, achieves a GPA of 3.7 or higher, and does his job on the ice rink. We wish James all the best in his future endeavors. Olbrich excelled in a variety of sports during his time at Woodhaven, including on the ice. Last season, even though the Warriors struggled throughout the season, Olbrich emerged as the team's leading scorer on a nightly basis as a defenseman.
Olbrich scored a team-high six goals and was tied for second on the team with eight points. The blueliner scored nearly 20 points in the three years he played ice hockey at Woodhaven.
Olbrich was also the No. 1 singles player on the Warriors men's tennis team, winning nearly 30 head-to-head matches over three seasons.
