Dayton – Wright State University Women's Soccer, led by Head Coach Travis Sobersannounced its 2024 schedule on Wednesday afternoon, highlighted by eight home contests this fall at Alumni Field.
The Raiders will begin the regular season with two exhibition games, first traveling to Toledo (Aug. 3) and then Miami, Ohio (Aug. 8). Wright State will open the regular season on the road at Illinois (Aug. 15) before opening its home series against Mercyhurst on Aug. 22.
After Thursday's home opener, the Raiders will have three games on the road and five of their seven games in September will be at Alumni Field. The first will be against Morehead State on Sept. 5 and Valparaiso University on Sept. 8. The Raiders will play their second September road game at home against cross-town rivals the University of Dayton (Sept. 12). Wright State will play three Horizon League games this month, first against the University of Green Bay (Sept. 19), then the University of Milwaukee (Sept. 22) and finally Cleveland State (Sept. 29).
The Raiders will play just two home games in October, against Horizon League opponents IU Indianapolis and Purdue Fort Wayne on Oct. 17 and Oct. 20, respectively. The Raiders will start the month with three away games before finishing the regular season with away matches against Robert Morris and Northern Kentucky on Oct. 26 and Oct. 30.
The Horizon League Championship will kick off on Nov. 3 at the host of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds. The tournament will continue on Nov. 7 and 9 at the host of the No. 1 seed.

Toledo (August 3, Toledo, Ohio, Exhibition)
– Toledo finished last season with a 7-9-2 record and 9th in the MAC with a 4-6-1 draw in conference play. The Raiders had a 3-4-1 draw in the regular season against Toledo, and this will be the 9th time the two teams have met. The last time the two teams met in the regular season was in 2019, with the Rockets winning 4-1.
Miami (August 8, Oxford, Ohio, Exhibition)
– Miami (Ohio) finished last season with an 8-10-1 record and an 8th-place finish in the MAC after going 5-6.Number Wright State has a 5-6-0 record against the Redhawks in the regular season, and this will be the first time the two schools have met. The last regular season meeting was in 2022, with the Raiders winning 1-0.
Illinois (season opener, August 15, Champaign, Illinois)
– Illinois finishes the 2023 season with a 6-8-3 record and 2-6-2-2 record in the Big Ten. The Fighting Illinas have a 2-0-0 record against Wright State, and this will be the third meeting between the two teams, with previous meetings dating back to 2010 and 2004.
Mercyhurst (August 22, Alumni Field, home opener)
– Mercyhurst went 16-4-1-1 overall and 14-1-1-1 in the PSAC last season. After losing in the PSAC Tournament semifinals, the Lakers ended their 2023 season with a 1-0 loss to Gannon University in the first round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship. This will be the first time the two schools have faced each other.
Akron (August 25, Akron, Ohio)
– Akron finished last season with a 3-14-1 record and 1-9-1 draw in the MAC. This will be the fourth time the two teams have met, with the Raiders holding a 2-1-0 record against the Zips. The last time the two teams met was in September 2023, with the Raiders winning 2-1.
Indiana (August 29, Bloomington, Illinois)
– Indiana finished last season with a 12-4 record overall and 6-2-2 ties in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers ended their 2023 season with a loss to Saint Louis in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. This will be the fourth time Wright State and Indiana have faced off against each other, with Indiana holding a 3-0-0 record against the Raiders. Previous meetings between the two teams dated back to 2009 and 1998.
Southern Indiana (September 1, Evansville, Indiana)
– Southern Indiana finished the 2023 season with 4 wins, 8 losses and 7 ties, including 3 wins, 2 losses and 4 ties in the OVC. The school's season ended with a loss to Little Rock in the OVC Tournament quarterfinals. This will be Wright State's second time playing the Eagles since the Raiders beat USI 2-1 last season.
Morehead State University (September 5, Alumni Field)
