Will Smith has shared a throwback snap from the remake of The Best Kid to celebrate martial arts legend Jackie Chan's 70th birthday.
Mr. Smith, 55, was a producer on the 2010 remake, which starred Chan and the producer's son Jaden, now 25 (he was only 12 when the film was released).
The actor/rapper/producer/ shared a number of behind-the-scenes snaps of himself, his son, and Chan on set.
Smith also sent a heartfelt message to Chan, who co-stars with Ralph Macchio in the new Best Kid series, thanking him for helping him “raise” Jaden on set.
“Happy 70th birthday to my boyfriend @jackiechan!!” Smith began with a heartfelt post to the action icon.
“Thank you so much for making my favorite movie of all time, creating some of the craziest moments ever captured on film, and for helping Jaden grow.” Smith added.
“The time I spent with you in Beijing on 'The Karate Kid' had a lasting impact on our entire family,” Smith continued.
“I wish you the deepest love and revelation on your next journey around the sun,” he concluded with a sun emoji.
Smith shared a snap of himself and Chan cradling little Jaden on set, and another of Jackie lifting Jaden above his head.
He also shared a behind-the-scenes snap from the film in which Jaden pulls off an impressive high kick.
Another snap shows Smith talking to his son while Chan watches the production.
The final photo shows Chan hugging Jaden on set, and both of them were smiling from ear to ear during the shoot.
Chan also shared several snapshots from the past on his Instagram, writing, “Even before today, many of my friends reminded me, “Jackie, it's almost your 70th birthday!'' ” he said.
“Every time I hear this number, my heart stops for a moment.
