Mid-Wednesday, reports began emerging that the Minnesota Wild would be undergoing a full branding relaunch with a North Star-inspired colorway that began with the 2021 Reverse Retro Sweater, which was met with some harsh criticism and some indifferent support, but overall was a controversial topic.
That lasted just a few hours, after the report was squashed by the team itself.
While it'd be fun to speculate on what this new look might be — what shade of green it might be, will the logo be altered, etc. — the Wild aren't actually planning on changing their entire look for the 2025-26 season.
The team may have something special in store for the 25th anniversary of that season, which is where the initial reports likely got their information from, and according to Michael Russo, it will be a design that represents the actual Wild, not a pre-Wild team.
