Stephen Curry's basketball success has led to multiple visits to the White House, but could the two-time NBA MVP have a chance at staying in the Oval Office on a more permanent basis? ?
In an interview with Jerrica Duncan on CBS Morning, Curry was asked if he had ever considered running for president of the United States.
“Maybe,” Curry told Duncan.
When asked about his interest in politics, Curry explained that he is open to any opportunity to use his influence in a positive way.
“I'm interested in using every part of my influence for the best as possible,” Curry explained. “If that's the way to do it — and I'm not talking about the presidency — if politics is the way to create meaningful change, or if there's another way outside of politics. ”
Duncan then asked Curry if he could rule out a presidential run at this point.
“Aren't you going to rule that out?'' Duncan asked.
“No,” Callie answered immediately.
Curry and his wife Ayesha are well-known for their philanthropic work, including founding the Eat.Play.Learn Foundation, which provides fresh meals, books and new play areas to Auckland schools.
While Curry hasn't vowed to become a politician after his NBA career is over, the superstar point guard is open to anything that allows him to use his platform to make the world a better place. It seems so.
4-time NBA Champion, 2-time MVP, Finals MVP. Will the president of the United States one day add to this embellished resume? Only time will tell.
