The principal of Varmakarai Martial Arts and Research Academy, HMS Colony, Madurai, has sought a ban on Kam Haasan's film Indian 2. He has also filed a petition against the film. The Madurai district court on Wednesday adjourned the suit seeking the ban.
But what is the reason behind this incident?
Ahsan Rajendran said Kamal Haasan, a teacher from Madurai, consulted him on the Varmakarai technique when he was making the first part of India. Now that the team has made Indian 2, a sequel to the original, Rajendran claims that no one asked for permission.
Rajendran said that while he was given credit for the original Indianapolis, this time he was not even asked for permission before using the technique in the film. He has called for the film to be banned not only in theatres but also on OTT platforms.
What does the Madurai District Court say?
As of now, the court hearing the teacher's petition has been adjourned until tomorrow (July 11). The case was first heard on Monday.
