After a disappointing bronze medal finish at the Tokyo Olympics, the U.S. women's soccer team has decided on the roster for the team that will be looking to win its first Olympic gold medal since 2012.
Emma Hayes has only been head coach for a few weeks, but with less than a month until the 2024 Paris Olympics, her first big test at the helm of the U.S. Women's National Team awaits.
The big news in the selection process was the absence of Alex Morgan, who has played for the national team in the past three Olympics, but the team still includes veteran athletes with plenty of Olympic experience, such as Alyssa Naher, Lindsey Horan and Crystal Dunn.

USWNT Olympic Roster
The roster Hayes selected is a mix of veterans and rookies: 10 have competed in the Olympics before and eight will be competing for their first time. The team also has four reserve players who will travel with the team and could be added to the roster if someone is injured.

Who is the USWNT head coach?
The U.S. Soccer Association hired Hayes in November, but due to her time as Chelsea manager, she didn't coach her first game until June 1. She's an accomplished manager, having recently led Chelsea to their fifth consecutive Super League title and seventh overall. Hayes also led Chelsea to the Champions League final in 2021, won the WSL Manager of the Year award six times, and was also the recipient of the FIFA Manager of the Year award in 2021.
When the U.S. Soccer Federation announced the hiring of Emma Hayes, it was announced that she would become the highest-paid coach in women's soccer.
