Jaylen Brown and Derrick White are just fine, despite many thinking the US team may have caused a rift between them.
Brown did not make the U.S. national team roster for the Paris Olympics, a decision many believe was largely due to a rocky relationship with the club's primary sponsor, Nike. That wouldn't have mattered much, except for the fact that White was selected to represent the team in place of Kawhi Leonard.
That didn't stop Brown from posting a series of cryptic tweets about why he may have passed on the selection, and while many saw it as a selfish move, White didn't seem to mind.
“Jalen called me and I said, 'Yeah, you don't have to call me. I know we're OK,'” White told Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe. “He called and said he just wanted to clarify things and I said I was OK. We have no issues, no problems. He's a hell of a player and I've never said a bad thing about Jalen.”
The Celtics stars don't have a feud, which was clear when Brown revealed at the ESPYs that the two had spoken, and now both sides are saying so.
So does that mean Brown will be flying to Paris to support White, Jayson Tatum and July Holiday? Probably not.
