Michael Seo was arrested in Texas on suspicion of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust, Westminster police said.
WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A local martial arts instructor has been arrested in Texas and charged with having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student, police announced Wednesday.
Westminster Police Station said it was notified in February 2023 of the relationship between the girl and her then-19-year-old instructor.
As a result of an investigation into the complaint, a warrant was issued against Michael Seo, now 21 years old, on charges of sexual assault of a child by a person in a position of trust (the victim is under the age of 15).
On Monday afternoon, Mr. Seo was arrested during a traffic stop in Spicewood, Texas, and taken to the Travis County Jail, where he is awaiting extradition.
A Westminster Police spokesperson said they were “not aware of” any other victims. He did not say where Seo worked.
