Kansas State is viewed as the state's top recruit out of Goodland High School, with the Wildcats carrying all five of the 247Sports Crystal Ball projections. Cure is ranked as the No. 2 tight end and No. 26 overall prospect in the Top247 rankings for the 2025 class.
Cure's other finalists include Oregon, Texas A&M and Kansas. Cure has visited each school from Memorial Day to the present, with his final official visit to Kansas State on June 21.
Chris Klieman's Wildcats have been winning the in-state recruiting race recently, with Avery Johnson being one of the more notable names, but even he hasn't been ranked as high as Cure. In fact, Cure is the highest-rated player to have committed/signed to Kansas State, ahead of 2000 lineman Chris Bogus. Other notable names on the top 10 list include quarterback Josh Freeman (No. 6) and the aforementioned Johnson (No. 7), who is expected to become a superstar this fall in the Little Apple.
Wherever Cure chooses to play, he is projected to be an immediate impact player in 2025. He is a star in multiple sports at Goodland.
- Athletics: A two-time Kansas 3A champion in the 300-meter hurdles, she also won a gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles as a junior and has qualified for the state meet in a variety of events over the years.
Her top track and field times were 11.05 in the 100 meters, 14.49 (3.5) in the 110 meters, 21.90 (2.7) in the 200 meters, 38.90 in the 300 meters and 6.2 in the high jump. - basketball: Averaged 11.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.1 rebounds as a junior on a Goodland team that competed for the Kansas 3A title. Cure scored 14 points in the final.
- Soccer (of course)Cure was named Kansas 3A All-State and finished his junior season with 42 catches for 946 yards and 14 touchdowns.
A scouting report on Cure from 247Sports' Greg Biggins praised Cure as an elite route runner who separates easily off the snap, wins 50-50 balls, is powerful after the catch and has the size and skill to add strength and improvement as a blocker at the next level.
