Warren University quarterback Madden Iamareva formalized his commitment to coach DeShawn Foster and UCLA on Saturday.
Iamareva will help bolster the Bruins' 2025 freshman class, which was ranked 43rd overall by 247Sports prior to his commitment. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback was the top recruit in UCLA's incoming freshman class, which rose to 34th overall.
Iamareva led Warren to an 11-2 record as a starter and an appearance in the CIF-SS Division 3 semifinals in 2023, his first year as a full-time starter. He completed 196 of 311 passes for 3,626 yards, 43 touchdowns and four interceptions.
He served as the backup to his older brother, Nico, who is projected to be Tennessee's starting quarterback this season.
UCLA and Nebraska had been mentioned as potential candidates for Iamareva, but Nebraska's May 12 commitment of Orange Lutheran University quarterback TJ Lateef may have eliminated the Cornhuskers from the list as an ideal transfer destination.
UCLA offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy spent time with Iamareva on May 15, watching him throw at a college introduction event in Warren, and the quarterback ended the week with an official visit to Westwood.
Quarterbacks Carson Gordon and Henry Hasselbeck signed with UCLA in December, when Chip Kelly was still head coach, and freshman Darmaricus Davis committed to the Bruins after spending the spring with Washington.
Iamaleava will begin his senior season on Aug. 23 when Warren welcomes Kamehameha Kapalama from Honolulu, Hawaii.
