The Wilmar Warhawks of the NA3HL are pleased to announce the following: Gus Cantwell I have committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at the University of New England in the NEHC!
Cantwell 21, 5'8″ / 185 lbs. Winger from St. Paul, Minnesota. Just completed his third season of junior hockey and spent two seasons with the New Ulm Steel and with the Warhawks, where he was acquired in a trade. Last season, Gase finished second on the team with 11 goals and 26 assists for 37 points in 45 games, with 119 points, 52 goals and 67 assists in 137 games. Cantwell, who joined the Warhawks in a trade from the Woodsmen (formerly of New Ulm Steel), earned his way to becoming the Warhawks' captain and was also named the NA3HL Top Prospect for the third year in a row.
Cantwell is a former Warhawk gunner who committed to the NEC last summer and played there last season, making a huge impact as a freshman, finishing second on the Pilgrims' roster in points while appearing in all 25 games.・He will join Sibley.
“We are thrilled that his hard work and dedication has paid off and he is moving on to the next level. The New England College Pilgrims are very excited to have Gus join us for the 24-25 season. We wish him the best,” Warhawks general manager Connor White said.
