Fort Myers, Florida – South Carolina, winner of two of the last three national championships, leads the field of eight teams competing in the 2024 Elevance Health Women’s Fort Myers Tip-Off. This year’s event will be held Nov. 28-30 on the campus of Florida Southwestern State College.
Four teams will make up the Island Division – South Carolina, Iowa State, Purdue and Middle Tennessee – while four teams will make up the Shell Division – Virginia Tech, Michigan, Belmont and Davidson. Teams in the Island Division will play two games each against pre-determined opponents, while the Shell Division will play in a traditional tournament format.
Additionally, it was announced that Elevance Health will continue as the title sponsor of the event, agreeing to a multi-year extension that will begin with the start of the 2022 Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off.

The combined strength of the programs should make the Elevance Health Women's Fort Myers Tip-Off one of the strongest fields in this year's early-season tournaments. The teams have a combined total of 122 NCAA Tournament appearances. The four Island Division teams have a combined 90 NCAA appearances and four national titles, with South Carolina leading the way with three and Purdue one. In addition to the Gamecocks, Iowa State, Middle Tennessee, Michigan and Virginia Tech were all selected to play in last year's NCAA Tournament.

The Westin Cape Coral and Marina Village and Marriott Sanibel Harbor will be the host hotels for the event, allowing fans to enjoy resort life by staying at the team's hotels.
