June 1 marks the official start of a busy month for college football across the country. Players are once again allowed to visit schools, and most schools will take advantage of June by scheduling official visits on weekends throughout the month.
The Virginia Tech Hokies are one of the teams with a packed schedule in June. The school has official visits scheduled every weekend in June, including opening week.
One of the players heading to Blacksburg this weekend for an official visit is Messiah Delhomme. Ahead of his visit to Virginia Tech, Delhomme released his top six. Delhomme's top group included the Hokies, Ohio State, Maryland, Alabama, Virginia and Syracuse.
That's a pretty good top group for the No. 4 ranked player in the state of Virginia in the class of 2025. Delhom is the No. 4 player in the state of Virginia, the No. 11 safety in the country and the No. 110 overall prospect, according to 247Sports.
The 6-foot-1, 196-pound defensive back plays both defense and offense at Warwick High School in Newport News, Michael Vick's alma mater. Delhom is an accomplished athlete who also competes in track and field. Delhom was an all-state athlete at Warwick on both offense and defense.
His future at the next level looks set to be as a defenseman. The Hokies have a lot of work to do with an impressive list of offers, but they're in the middle of Del Homme's recruiting. Will it be enough to keep him in state?
His official visit this weekend will be huge, and you can bet Brent Pry and his staff will do everything in their power to secure Delhomme's commitment.
