The NHL Coaches Association (NHLCA) recognized this award. Charice Paoli Her work as an avid junior hockey coach for the Little Blackhawks at Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills earned her a spot on the NHLCA Women's Coaches Spotlight.
Paoli was selected for the prestigious Women Coaches Spotlight as a testament to her unwavering commitment to developing young talent and fostering a love of hockey within the community.
Paoli's passion for coaching comes through in her dedication to helping young athletes not only improve their hockey skills, but also develop the confidence and resilience they need both on and off the ice. .
The NHLCA Women Coaches Spotlight Initiative aims to advance women in several areas, including youth skill development, leadership strategies, and strengthening camaraderie.

Congratulations robert warren newlenHe will celebrate his 100th birthday on April 28th.
Newlen was born in Chicago and graduated from Lane Technical High School in 1942. After his graduation, he served in the Navy during World War II.
He married June Kalil Meyer, and the couple had five children. Mr. Newlen, who lives with his daughter in Palatine, now has 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, and that number continues to grow.
Newlen, affectionately known as “Papa” or “Red,” is an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He loved watching the Cubs win the World Series, and he celebrated by painting on the walls. He plans to celebrate his 100th birthday with his family and friends at his home in Palatine.
Toria Shaw Morawski of Schaumburg has been named a Fellow of the National Academy of Practice (Social Work).

Lives in Schaumburg Toria Shaw MorawskyA certified diversity practitioner, entrepreneur, and clinical social worker, he has been named a Distinguished Fellow in the National Academies of Practice (NAP) – Social Work.
NAP advises government agencies on the U.S. health care system, with a focus on global health care access and equity.
Shaw Morawski has over 20 years of experience in the global nonprofit sector in the United States, Africa, the Caribbean, and Europe. She spent 10 years at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, where she was promoted to Senior Manager of Professional Development, and she is an international leader of 111 volunteers representing 34 countries. led technical informatics instructional education reform initiatives and communities.
Her global collaboration experience includes the U.S. President's AIDS Relief Emergency Plan and workforce development initiatives funded by the European Commission. Driven by her passion for positively impacting health systems, she also co-founded Global Implementation Solutions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening health systems around the world.
Bartlett Police Officer Trevor Wittenbrink has been awarded the Bartlett Police Department's 2023 Spirit Award.

police Officer Trevor Wittenbrink is the recipient of the Bartlett Police Department's 2023 Spirit Award. This award is presented annually to a police officer who exhibits a positive image both within the department and when interacting with the public.
Officer Wittenbrink has been an active member of the police force for the past three years and has performed a high level of volunteer work both internally and externally. He is known for his positive interactions with the community and enjoys regularly interacting with residents in his area of responsibility, stopping by his lemonade stand, and getting to know the people of Bartlett.
Last year, Officer Wittenbrink helped the department raise more than $15,000 for the Illinois Special Olympics team by participating in the Polar Plunge and Law Enforcement Torch Run. In June, he represented the police department at the Special Olympics Summer Games, cheering on athletes and presenting medals at the awards ceremony.
Officer Wittenbrink has generously volunteered his time in support of various police/community events such as the Teen Citizen Police Academy and National Night Out. He was also invited to his alma mater, Elgin Community College, to speak to his students about the steps to becoming a police officer.
