After being drafted in the first round by Las Vegas, they flew to Park City, Utah, to participate in their first NHL development camp.
They then played their first-ever development camp scrimmage in front of thousands of fans at the Delta Center in Salt Lake, after which both players signed entry-level contracts.

Utah Hockey Club rookies appear at IIHF Summer Showcase
Iginla and Beaudoin have also been selected to Canada's national team for the IIHF Summer Showcase in Plymouth, Michigan.
The event will also serve as an evaluation camp for selection of players for the 2025 World Junior Championships and will feature several matches featuring players from the United States, Sweden, Finland and Canada.
The U.S. camp will have 46 players split into two teams: 26 from Sweden and 25 from Finland.
All three teams will spend the majority of their time at USA Hockey Arena.
Canada has invited 41 players to the camp, which will be held primarily in Windsor, Ontario. The Canadian team will play a split-team game on July 30, a combined roster will face Sweden the following night, then cross the border to play two games in Plymouth before facing the U.S. on Aug. 3.
Most of the players taking part in the event have been drafted or will be drafted, including top prospects for the 2025 NHL Draft, James Hagens of the United States and Porter Martone of Canada.
The matches will begin on Sunday the 28th and run until Saturday the 3rd of August.
The Utah Hockey Club also has players from other teams participating in the showcase. Goalkeeper Carsen Musser is the lone UHC player on Team USA, while forward Noel Nord and goalkeeper Melker Thelin will play for Team Sweden.
