Guinea's U-23 soccer team has secured a spot at the 2024 Olympics and will play against the USMNT in Group A.
Guinea defeated Indonesia 1-0 in the playoffs on Thursday, with Ilaix Moriba scoring the only goal of the match from the penalty spot. Guinea became the 16th and final qualifier for the men's tournament to be held in Paris.
The match was a playoff between teams from the African Confederation and the Asian Confederation, with Guinea facing fellow African nations Egypt, Morocco and Mali in the final.
The U.S. opens against hosts France on July 24 in Marseille, then plays New Zealand three days later in Marseille before facing Guinea in the third group stage game in Saint-Etienne on July 30.

In the draw for the women's tournament, the USWNT was placed in Group B along with Germany, Australia and Zambia.
However, Zambia's women's team may not be able to participate due to the ongoing political crisis within the country's football association.
World football's governing body, FIFA, has announced that the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) could be suspended due to “undue influence by a third party” in the Zambia Football Association (FAZ). He said there is a possibility that he will not be able to participate in international competitions.
