Former USC Trojan DJ Rodman, the son of Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman, signed with the Los Angeles Clippers in early July to close out the NBA Summer League.
Dennis Rodman last played in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks in 2000. He won two championships with the Detroit Pistons and three championships with the Chicago Bulls. He also played for the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers.
DJ Rodman began his collegiate career with the Washington State Cougars before transferring to the USC Trojans to play there for the 2023-2024 season. After his short stint with the Trojans, he earned a spot in the NBA Summer League with the Los Angeles Clippers.
In 143 collegiate games, he averaged 6.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1 assist. His best season came in 2022-2023 with the Washington State Cougars, when he averaged 9.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists.
Rodman didn't get much playing time with the Clippers during the summer league. He's simply not at the top of the team's list of primary options. He didn't make as big an impact as he hoped. It's possible that he'll play in the G League this coming basketball season.
