Ryan Garcia takes on WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney 12 round title fight This Saturday night (April 20, 2024) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. But he's pretty upset, so perhaps someone should let “King Ryan” know about the upcoming scrap.
Garcia has none of the air of a professional boxer ready to fight the best in the world. In recent weeks he has been saying and doing strange and concerning things. Although his random confessions that he occasionally smokes marijuana are relatively unproblematic, those close to him have expressed serious concerns about his mental health. People thought Garcia was dead, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission requested a mental health evaluation.
This is not the first time Mr. Garcia has addressed such issues and accusations.
Already this week, Garcia was removed from a New York Mets baseball game where he was supposed to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. If that's not weird enough for fight week antics, Garcia's bizarre behavior continues online. Surprisingly, in a still-deleted tweet, Garcia speculated about the theory that Jon Jones would fight Jon Jones while he was high on cocaine.

I'd bet on Jon Jones, given that 'Bones' once boasted about punching Daniel Cormier after a white riot, but he doesn't know what to do with his name as a street drug. You don't want to tie it any more. Besides, Jones is probably too busy dealing with his own latest legal troubles following an alleged assault on a UFC drug tester.
