UNLV's club hockey team will compete in the national championship on Tuesday.
The fifth-seeded Rebels (25-6-1) will face powerhouse Adrian College (33-5) in the American Collegiate Hockey Association men's Division I final at the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri, starting at 6 p.m. ) to play against. The winner wins the Murdoch Cup.
The match will be streamed on FloHockey.tv.
UNLV defeated No. 3 Central Oklahoma 6-4 in the national semifinals behind two goals from Justin Stathopoulos. The Rebels also advanced to the national title game, defeating Missouri State University 7-2 and the University of Pittsburgh 5-1.
Bradley Golant was UNLV's leading scorer with 44 points in 32 games.
World No. 2 Adrian (Michigan) is competing in the national finals for the second year in a row and is aiming for his third ACHA national title. The Bulldogs had easy wins over Liberty University and rival Calvin University, and defeated No. 8 Ohio University 3-1 in the semifinals.
Adrian features a deep attack and tight defense, led by goaltender Noah Decotinese, who ranks second in ACHA Division I with a 1.75 points per game average.
