Quickly: The fourth year of the Shane Beamer era at the University of South Carolina begins with the start of spring practice on Tuesday, March 19th. Shamcox plans to complete all 15 practices allotted to him during the spring. The team typically practices on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for five consecutive weeks, culminating in the annual Garnet & Black Spring Game on Saturday, April 20th.
We are talking about exercises: Most practices will be held at the football practice field at the west end of Shamcock Park, adjacent to the Long Family Football Operations Center, or at the Jerry and Steve Spurrier Indoor Practice Facility. All practices are scheduled in the morning, usually at 9 o'clock. Saturday's scrimmage will likely be held early in the morning at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Sneak peek: Qualified members of the media will be given three opportunities to watch the first six periods of practice. Viewing dates are March 19th (Tuesday), March 28th (Thursday), and April 11th (Thursday). Live streaming is not possible during this period. Media members are asked to remain near the south end of the practice range, near the indoor facility, unless otherwise directed.

What did the gamecock say?: Requested and approved offensive players will be able to meet with the media on Monday, March 25th, and defensive players will be able to meet with the media for the first time on Wednesday, March 27th. Players will also be able to meet on Wednesday, April 3rd and Wednesday, April 10th. Requests must be submitted to Steve Fink at least two business days prior to his/her media availability. We will do our best to respond to all your requests. However, please note that interviews have limited time and may conflict with some players.
For your eyes only: All spring practices are closed to the public with the exception of the Garnet and Black Spring Games.
Play a game: The annual Garnet & Black Spring Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 20th. Game time is set for 7:00 PM ET at Williams-Brice Stadium. Admission to the game is free.
Working towards the weekend: “Big Gamecock Weekend is scheduled for April 19-21. In addition to the annual Garnet & Black Spring Game, which concludes spring practice for football, highlights of the weekend include the Cocky Trot 5K, 2024 New events include a Junior Shamcock Club movie night on the field at Williams-Brice Stadium, starring Wonka, and South Carolina's baseball, beach volleyball and track and field teams. , all at home during the Big Sham weekend.

Coaching up coach: The 4th Annual Shane Beamer Football Coaches Clinic will be hosted by Head Coach Shane Beamer and the Carolina Football Coaching Staff and will be held March 22nd and 23rd. During the clinic, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with Gamecock's coaching staff, learn from championship-winning coaches, and talk a little about soccer while enjoying delicious food and fellowship. Participants will also be able to join the South Carolina coaching staff on the field for practice and observe demonstrations, drills and practice formats. Our entire staff, including directors of strength and conditioning, operations, recruiting, nutrition, sports medicine, and player development, is available to answer any questions you may have about our program.
Ah, yes, it's ladies night. Head coach Shane Beamer and the South Carolina coaching staff will host a ladies day clinic on Saturday, April 6th. All attendees will be able to interact with the entire South Carolina coaching staff and observe football practices held at Williams. Blyth Stadium.
