New in Year 2
It didn't take that long Kayden Lee To develop your talent as a new student. His first career reception came in the 2024 season opener against Mercer, where he gained 34 yards and scored a touchdown. He had his second career reception against ULM in November for 51 yards and a touchdown. The Kennesaw, Ga., native finished his freshman year by completing three passes while making his first career start in a Peach Bowl win over Penn State.
“I had a great season last year, and it's great to come in as a freshman and get to know the players, but I'm hoping to have a bigger role on the team in my second year,” Lee said. “Find your position, whether it's in the slot or out. Right now, I'm going back and forth between the slot and out to figure out how I can best contribute to the team.”
Lee will do that this season under new leadership. derrick nicks, left in the offseason after 16 seasons at Ole Miss, including the last four seasons where he led the receiver room. Kiffin took over the room with the addition of McDonald to lead the Rebel passing game, and so far Lee feels like he's blooming in his new situation.
“I love Coach McDonald,” Lee said. “I had a great relationship with Coach Knicks. Coach McDonald came in and we got along great. We went out to eat, had sushi, talked about ball. He's a great coach. He taught me a lot. He's led guys to the NFL. He's a great coach.'' He's got a great record, so I'm excited to work with him. ”
