Two of the biggest names in the UFC strawweight division will collide this summer.
Angela Hill, one of the most experienced women on the promotion's roster, will face Tabatha Ricci at the UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 24 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
Two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie about the booking after Hill (17-13 MMA, 12-13 UFC) announced the bout on his podcast, “2Straws.”
The 39-year-old Hill has won four of her last five fights, including a unanimous decision win over Denise Gomez and a submission win over Luana Pinheiro.
Ricci (10-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has won five of her last six fights. The 29-year-old was coming off a split decision loss to Loopy Godinez in her most recent bout, before rebounding with a split decision win over Tecia Pennington.
With these additions, the UFC Fight Night lineup on August 24 will be as follows:
- Bruno Ferreira vs. Roman Kopylov
- Gerald Meerschaert vs. Edmen Shahbazyan
- Neil Magny vs. Michael Morales
- Angela Hill vs. Tabatha Richie
- Denis Buzkuca vs. Danny Silva
- Jose Medina vs. Zach Reese
- Viacheslav Borshchev vs. James Roentop
- Jacqueline Cavalcanti vs. Josiane Nunes
- Victoria Leonard vs. Kong Wang
