MMA Fighting has confirmed that former top-10 heavyweight contender Brown (9-8-1 UFC, 18-7-1 overall) has been released from his UFC contract. The news comes seven years after Brown lost his fourth straight fight in the second round in his last bout. Alexei Oleinik Brown has not shown any signs of returning since the loss, but has never formally announced his retirement. Brown's last victory was a third-round technical knockout.
