Dana White is promising a show unlike any he's ever promoted when UFC 306 takes place at the Sphere in Las Vegas on September 14.
On Monday, presale tickets for UFC 306 began, and Ticketmaster not only announced the prices (tickets currently range from $3,000 to $12,000) but also gave the first glimpse into how the arena is being prepared for the historic event: The Sphere boasts 160,000 square feet of LED screens that surround the entire interior of the arena.
With seating capacity expected to reach around 20,000, and UFC's CEO previously confirmed plans for standing-room-only tickets on the floor, UFC 306 is sure to be a very different experience than the major promotion's typical shows.
As seen in the photo below, the unique Sphere setup features an octagon arranged like a theater stage at one end of the arena, with limited seating behind the cage, with the majority of the seating extending down to the floor and continuing to the top of the arena.
Fighters will exit through the left and right sides that lead directly into the Octagon, another very different setup than a typical UFC event.
White said UFC has already spent $17 million preparing for a “one-off” event at the Sphere to continue the promotion's new annual tradition of celebrating Mexican Independence Day.
The full card for UFC 306 was also announced last weekend, with bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley defending his title against Merab Dvalishvili in the main event, and Alexa Grasso fighting for the flyweight title against Valentina Shevchenko in the co-main event.
