Alex Pereira defended his light heavyweight championship in a rematch against former champion Jiri Prochazka in the main event of UFC 303. Pereira landed a devastating switch kick to Prochazka's temple, sending him defenseless to the canvas and forcing the referee to stop the bout.
Pereira (11-2) has won four straight bouts, including a second-round knockout victory over Prochazka in November to win the vacant 205-pound title. Pereira is ranked No. 3 in ESPN's pound-for-pound rankings. Prochazka (30-5-1) has only lost twice in nine years, both to Pereira.

Lopez and Ige put their best foot forward at UFC 303
Diego Lopez picked up a meaningful win over a ranked opponent at UFC 303 on Saturday, but that wasn't the case against Brian Ortega.
Lopez (25-6) extended his winning streak to four by defeating Dan Ige by unanimous decision in a bout that was held at a catchweight of 165 pounds due to incredible circumstances.
Lopez was scheduled to fight Ortega at 145 pounds featherweight, but the fight was moved to 155 on Friday after Ortega struggled to make weight. Ortega then withdrew from Saturday's bout altogether and Ige took his place in what is considered the shortest-notice bout in modern UFC history.

Karate hottie retires, leaves gloves in the Octagon

The 38-year-old Waterson-Gomez announced her retirement following a unanimous decision loss to Gillian Robertson on the undercard of UFC 303. Waterson-Gomez (18-13) rose to fame more than a decade ago, when women's mixed martial arts was still in its infancy. UFC 303 fight rankings: Who's going to fight in McGregor vs. Chandler's absence?
Saturday's revitalized main event was a rematch of last November's hard-fought battle in which Alex Pereira won the belt. It was a close fight that went either way, but honestly, it was mostly in Jiri Prochazka's favor. And then Pereira landed a left hook counter punch in the second round that marked the beginning of the end. But speaking of the beginning, the most spine-chilling highlight was the pre-fight introductions, when the fighters stood in their corners, staring at each other across the cage, neither of them moving. If Pereira and Prochazka can bring that same chilling energy back on Saturday, we're in for a treat.
There will be several storylines unfolding at UFC 303. Here we've compiled the most intriguing storylines as questions to be answered on fight day.
