Many spots on the U.S. team for the Paris Olympics have already been secured, but the final day of the U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials will feature 11 more finals, increasing the U.S. team's field by 33 spots.
The men's finals will be the hammer throw, high jump, triple jump, 5,000 metres, 800 metres and 400 metres hurdles, while the women's finals will be the pole vault, javelin, 100 metres hurdles, 1,500 metres and 400 metres hurdles.
Cole Hocker, Woody Kincaid and Grant Fisher are the favorites to win the men's 5,000m. The women's 1,500m has a strong field. Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Rai Benjamin are the overwhelming favorites to win the 400m hurdles. Former Oregon Ducks star Aleisha Johnson is one of the favorites to win the 100m hurdles. Vancouver native Kara Winger is making a comeback in the women's javelin.

Women's Pole Vault Final: The competition begins with the bar at 14 feet 1/2 inches. Ten women have cleared that height, which will then rise to 14 feet 6 1/4 inches. Seven swimmers have successfully cleared the bar so far. Katie Moon and Sandy Morris have cleared both heights. … The bar rises to 14 feet 10 1/4 inches, which Gabriella Leon, Sandy Morris, Katie Moon and Bridget Williams each cleared on their first attempt. Amanda Mohr and Hana Mohr also cleared it.
Men's Hammer Throw Final: After three rounds in the men's hammer final, Daniel Howe leads the way with a throw of 260 feet, 10 inches in the third round. Justin Stafford is in second place with a personal best of 252-10. Rudy Winkler is third with 252-0, followed by Jordan Geist with a personal best of 250-4. Rounding out the top eight are Tyler Williams (250-1), Tarik O'Hagan (244-7), Israel Oloyede (243-10) and Alex Young (241-7), who will all throw three more times. Eliminated were Trey Knight, Tyler Markley, Morgan Sigo and Isaiah Rogers. …No throwers improved in the fourth round, so they will move on to the fifth round. Rudy Winkler moved into second place with a season best of 258-10. … In the final round, Tyler Williams moved into fourth place with a personal best of 251-1. … Daniel Howe won the hammer throw with a personal best of 260-10. Rudy Winkler took second at 258-10 and Justin Stafford took third at 252-10.
