The U.S. men's soccer national team announced its roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics on Monday in a video narrated by coach Marko Mitrovic.
The full roster by position is as follows:
- Goalkeepers: Patrick Schulte, Gaga Slonina (substitute: John Palskamp)
- Defenders: Maximillian Dietz, Nathan Harriel, Miles Robinson, John Tolkin, Caleb Wiley, Walker Zimmerman (Replacement: Jacob Davis)
- Midfielders: Gianluca Busio, Benjamin Cremaschi, Jack McGlynn, Djordje Mihajlovic, Tanner Tessman (substitute: Josh Atencio)
- Forwards: Paxten Aaronson, Taylor Booth, Duncan Maguire, Kevin Paredes, Griffin Yeo (substitute: Johan Gomez)
The Olympic Games will begin on July 24 with a match between Team USA and Team France.
In the group stage, the U.S. team will play New Zealand on July 27 and Guinea on July 30.
The men's Olympic team roster features 18 players from 15 teams, with nine MLS clubs represented: Columbus Crew, Philadelphia Union, FC Cincinnati, Atlanta United FC, Nashville SC, Inter Miami CF, Orlando City SC, Seattle Sounders FC and Sporting Kansas City.
The team used its three overage slots, available for players 23 or older, on Zimmerman, Robinson and Mihailovic.
The roster is topped by four national team veterans who represented the U.S. at the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup in Zimmerman, Mihailovic, Bucio and Slonina.
Zimmerman is the only team member to also play for the United States at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
At 19, Cremaschi is the team's youngest player and is old enough to compete in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The Inter Miami star was also eligible to represent Argentina at the Olympics.
Schulte, who won the 2023 MLS Cup with Columbus, and Slonina, who led the under-20 team to the quarterfinals as a starter at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, will compete for the goalkeeper position.
Notable absences include goalkeeper Chris Brady, midfielder Brian Gutierrez and midfielder Diego Luna, who MLS and USMNT insider Tom Bogert reported turned down the team's request to join the Olympic squad as an alternate.
The U.S. Men's Olympic Team will be looking to win an Olympic medal for the first time, having most recently competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics where they were eliminated in the group stage and narrowly missed the podium at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
