The men's team for France is known: Today, the U.S. Soccer Federation announced the 18 players and four reserves that will make up the men's Olympic team roster.
The men's Olympic team is limited to players 23 or younger, with up to three over-age players allowed. Walker Zimmerman, Djordje Mihajlovic, and Myles Robinson were the three over-age players who made the final Olympic team.
Fifteen players on the roster have USMNT experience, with Gianluca Busio leading the U-23s with 13 caps, and Myles Robinson is the only player who was also on the USMNT Copa America roster.
The team will open their group stage match against hosts France on July 24, then face New Zealand on July 27 before wrapping up their group stage match against Guinea on July 30.
“I couldn't be more excited to have such great players and such great people representing us at the Olympics,” coach Marko Mitrovic said in a statement. “They have worked their whole lives to get to this stage, so this is a special moment for all of us. Nearly every player has grown up on our U.S. Soccer path, turned professional and will now achieve their dream of competing in the Olympic Games. We're grateful to the clubs that have chosen to release their players to join our mission. Our goal is to make our country proud and we will give it our all for the USA.”
