The 2024 World Junior Hockey Summer Showcase will take place from July 26 to August 3 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan, where two Boston Bruins prospects will be selected for Team USA. Bruins 2023 draft picks Chris Pelosi and Beckett Hendrickson, who were teammates with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL for part of the 2023-24 season, have been invited to the event, which also serves as an evaluation of players seeking to make their country's national team in preparation for the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship, to be held from December 26, 2024 to January 5, 2025 in Ottawa, Ontario.

USA Hockey invited 46 hockey players, 25 of whom are forwards, to participate in the showcase, which will include daily practices and nine international games. Other forwards include 2023 first-round draft picks Ryan Leonard (8th overall), Oliver Moore (19th overall) and Gabe Perot (23rd overall). Pelosi was selected 92nd overall in the third round and played center for the Stampede for two seasons. The 6-foot-1, 1,985-pound forward has recorded 34 goals and 40 assists in 99 games. A native of Sewell, New Jersey, Pelosi has committed to attend Quinnipiac University for the 2024-25 season and turned 19 in March.
Hendrickson was Pelosi's linemate in 43 games this season, totaling 18 goals and 25 assists, before trading to the Dubuque Fighting Saints where he recorded nine goals and 21 assists in 16 games. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound forward also had seven points in 11 playoff games. The Minnetonka native was the 124th overall pick in the 2023 draft. Hendrickson is committed to play for his hometown Minnesota Golden Gophers for the 2024-25 season and will turn 19 on June 24.
