EWENY — University of Oregon football's 2024 schedule has been altered, with two games moved to Friday nights.
The original schedule had Oregon hosting Michigan State on Saturday, Oct. 5, and playing an away game at Purdue on Oct. 19. Both games were moved to the previous Friday.
Oregon's matchups with two Big Ten opponents are scheduled for Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. (Michigan State vs. Oregon) and Oct. 18 at 5 p.m. (Oregon vs. Purdue). Both games will be broadcast on FOX.
The Ducks' game against the Spartans will be their Big Ten home opener. Oregon will make its Big Ten debut on Sept. 28 against UCLA in the Rose Bowl.
“Every coach, every player wants to play in big games.”
– Dan Running
The Ducks' 2024 season will begin with back-to-back home games against Idaho (Aug. 31) and Boise State (Sept. 7) before the team wraps up non-conference play against in-state rival Oregon State in Corvallis.
“The last three years of college football have been crazy, but it certainly has become clear for us at Oregon as to which conference we're going to be in and how that positions us for the future,” Running told On3.
With the team's Big Ten Conference debut, new opponents and a new game day environment, the future looks bright. Oregon is not just a participant, it's a strong contender. The Ducks are the favorites to win the Big Ten Conference title.
