The Turkmenistan Boxing Federation held the Youth National Championships in March and plans to hold the next championships in July in conjunction with a referee and judges course aimed at grassroots development.
The next Turkmenistan Junior National Championships will be held in the capital, Ashgabat, where all facilities, competition venues and training options are of world-class level.
Boxers born in 2008 and 2009 are eligible to compete in the upcoming Turkmenistan Junior National Championships. The Turkmenistan Boxing Federation administration has opened up the national tournament to female boxers.
Turkmenistan's talented junior boxers performed phenomenally at the last ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships, with 16-year-old Dayanchi Durdinepsov making history by winning the gold medal in the light welterweight (63kg) category.
Prodigy technicians Sanjar Khamraev (48kg) and Abdalla Khodjaev (50kg) both won silver medals at Astana 2023. Seychan Babadzhanov (54kg) won a bronze medal at the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships last November.
Junior athletes can compete in the national tournament from all over Turkmenistan, namely Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, Mari and the capital, Ashgabat.

Turkmenistan Boxing Federation Secretary General Durdimamet Khurjaev is organising more events and courses in the country to develop all aspects of boxing in the Central Asian country. The tournament will serve as a qualification for the ASBC Asian Junior & School Boys & School Girls Boxing Championships scheduled to be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
