Tim Tzu's manager Glenn Jennings has announced that if his fighter wins his WBO junior middleweight belt title defense against Sebastian Fandora this Saturday night, he will be in line for a super fight against Terrence Crawford. He revealed that he would begin negotiations for a fight “immediately.”
Tszyu (24-0, 17 KOs) and Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) will headline the Prime PPV this Saturday, March 30th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Crawford has always used his “super champion” status in the welterweight division to make Tszyu's mandatory WBO appearance at 154 years old, and he has made it clear that is the fight he wants.
Tszyu is eager to face Crawford, a former three-division world champion (40-0, 31 KOs) who ranks highly in the pound-for-pound ratings. After his win over Errol Spence Jr., many fans feel he is invincible.
If Tszyu wins, negotiations will begin.
“Immediately after the game, as soon as everything becomes official, we're going to get into negotiations and see what we can do,” Jennings told Fox Sports O. If he wins, he said he plans to immediately begin negotiations with Crawford. Las Vegas.
“Of course, Tim also has a mandatory WBC appearance, which clouds the situation somewhat. But obviously when Crawford comes on, the whole boxing world is going to sit up and take notice.”
Crawford feels he is the key to defeating Tszyu. Because if he thinks this is a match he's going to lose, as many feel he does with Jaron “Boots” Ennis at 147, he's going to change course.
Terrence isn't going to risk his chances of getting a big payday against Canelo Alvarez if he doesn't feel like he can beat Tse. Crawford has grown wiser with years of experience, and Tszyu is slow and easy to hit, making him a surefire winner.
That could backfire and Tszyu takes advantage of Crawford's overconfidence, lack of athleticism and age to fight in a new weight class to defeat him.
Will Tszyu exploit Crawford's weaknesses?
- Year
- inactive
- new weight class
- overconfidence
Crawford, 36, faces many risks given his age, lack of exercise and weak background. Her only solid win in her 16-year-old career came against 33-year-old Spence. Spence looked slow and underweight, looking nothing like the fighter he was when he defeated Lamont Parson in 2018.
When you remove Spence's name from Crawford's resume, what's left are the following fighters:
jeff horn
Kell Brook: 34
Shawn Porter: 34
David Avanesian
Jose Benavidez Jr.
Egidiyus Kavaliauskas
Julius Indongo
Thomas Dulorme
ricky burns
Victor Postol
