Xavier Griffin is becoming one of the most highly recruited defensive players in the Class of 2026.
Four-star linebacker Xavier Griffin from Gainesville (Ga.) High School has received an offer from USC. Griffin is ranked as the nation's No. 7 linebacker in the On3 industry rankings and the No. 77 overall 2026 prospect.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound rising junior has offers from Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State, among others. He had a great 2023 season, recording 52 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks, according to MaxPreps.
“He's very tall, he's got length, he's got incredible speed and closing speed. The problem is his ceiling is still high. That's what's great about him. He's a special kid. An incredible kid with a lot of character. He's a team player and works extremely hard. He's a jack of all trades in a way,” Gainesville High School coach Josh Niblett said.
USC linebackers coach Matt Entz hopes to be able to develop and coach a prospect who obviously has a lot of upside.
