Light welterweights Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall will collide tonight at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England in a 12-round non-title rematch broadcast live on ESPN+ in the U.S. and DAZN in the U.K. Taylor has lost all four of his titles, but there's still a lot at stake for both fighters.
Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs), a former unbeaten light welterweight champion, defeated Catterall (28-1, 13 KOs) two years ago in 2022 in Glasgow, Scotland.
Promoted by Eddie Hearn, Catterall will be looking to avenge his loss in tonight's 50-50 bout, a crossroads bout for both fighters who have been left spinning their wheels since 2022, doing little to advance their stagnant careers.
Tonight's event will air live on ESPN+ beginning at 3:15PM ET / 12:15PM PT. The main event ring walk is scheduled for approximately 5:35PM ET / 2:35PM PT.
B247 will bring you live updates and results from the action below.
Tonight's undercard action:
Chevon Clark vs. Ellis Zoro
Paddy Donovan vs. Lewis Ritson
Josh Taylor, 33, looked awful in his 12-round decision loss to Teofimo Lopez last year in New York, losing his last belt, the WBO 140-pound title, and vacating his other three titles.
It is interesting to note that winning the undefeated light welterweight title in 2021 was a blow to Taylor’s once promising career. His ambitions evaporated and he has been terrible ever since.
Catterall has done very little in his career since his loss to Taylor, but that's been normal. Before his fight with Taylor, Catterall had never fought anyone famous, and after his loss to Taylor, he started fighting random opponents.
