“We want Boston!” is a common chant among fans during the NBA playoffs, and was heard in Miami, Cleveland, Indiana and New York before the Knicks lost to the Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The Celtics silenced the crowd by breezing through the first three rounds and advancing to the NBA Finals to face the Dallas Mavericks, and naturally, Dallas fans quickly chimed in, “We want Boston!”
Given how this season's playoffs have played out, the Celtics should be careful what they wish for, which was the theme of a promotional video narrated by legendary New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady that the Celtics released ahead of Thursday's Game 1.
“Really? You want Boston? Let me tell you, that's a bad idea,” Brady said. “The culture? The history. Cleveland? It's over. … Indianapolis? It's over. But us? We're still here. Anywhere but Boston would be good right now.”

Dallas will be Boston's toughest test yet in these playoffs, but there's a reason the Celtics are the overwhelming favorites to win the championship: They went 64-18 in the regular season, earned themselves the No. 1 overall seed and lost just two games in the postseason. They're certainly not the team fans “want to face” in a championship game.
The NBA Finals will begin at 8:30 pm ET on Thursday at TD Garden, with coverage on NBC Sports Boston. Celtics Pregame Live 7pm ET.
