Welcome to #TIGERTALK – a SweetwaterNOW exclusive series where Rock Springs High School Tigers inspire their community by telling their stories in their own words.
My name is Cassidy Webb. I am her 18 year old student at Rock Springs High School. I am a senior in her APS Academy and National Honor Society. I also participate in Tigers for Literacy. I lettered all four years of high school for both football and basketball. I plan to continue playing soccer at Northwest University in Powell, Wyoming. I am studying criminal justice and hope to work in law enforcement after college.
The past four years have been filled with many successes and many learning opportunities. Last season, I faced a huge personal challenge. I suffered a torn ACL and meniscus. I was injured four games into my junior soccer season, and it not only affected my physical health, but it was also a mental challenge, and I'm still affected by it to this day. I had to work hard at physical therapy in time for last basketball season, and even though it's not recommended, I was back at exactly 6 months.

The recovery process was the most difficult part, but this injury made me realize that I didn't want my soccer career to end after high school and that I wasn't ready to quit playing soccer. However, the timing of the injury made the college recruiting process extremely complicated. I missed my junior summer and scouting and scouting didn’t work out for me. But I'm very happy and excited about my choice to sign with Northwest.
Rock Springs High School sports coverage is brought to you by the following great sponsors:
I've been playing soccer since I was 3 years old and I've never stopped playing since. Soccer has always been an essential part of my life, allowing me to relieve stress and go out with friends. I've made so many memories because of soccer, and I couldn't have asked for better teammates or coaches. Throughout my soccer career, I have received guidance and support from many coaches.
The first coach I remember was Tim Storey. He taught me a lot and helped me learn the basics of soccer and working as a team. Next up is my dad, Josh Webb. He is currently the head coach of the Green River High School boys soccer team. He taught me to hold myself to a higher standard and that it will be good in the long run and in the process he will learn a lot about himself. I would also like to thank Rian Johnson, Matt Strand, Hector Guzman, and Matt Curtis. I especially want to thank Steven Pyer for giving me the time and opportunity as a freshman to get familiar with the game and see what it felt like to play on a talented team.
A memory I will forever be grateful for is winning the state championship my freshman year with Pyer as my coach. Lastly, I would like to thank Braxton Rosette for helping me step out of my comfort zone and step into my new role as a team leader.
We are very excited about this season and have a goal of making it to state later this year.
