Florida State scouting has been great the past few years under the direction of coach Mike Norvell and his staff, and no matter what the scouting services think, the Seminoles will land a player who fits their locker room and style of play.
On Tuesday night, three-star safety Max Redmon announced his commitment to FSU, beating out three finalists, including USF and Illinois. Redmon is the seventh prospect to commit to the Seminoles in the past two weeks, joining four-star defensive tackle Kevin Winn, four-star wide receiver C.J. Wiley, four-star defensive tackle Myron Charles, four-star tight end Chase Loftin, four-star cornerback Zay Thomas and four-star offensive lineman Peyton Joseph.

Redmon is not the first in this class to be considered a “blue chip” prospect, but that's not his own fault. He was a multi-sport star at the high school level, recording 64 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two interceptions on defense, and catching six passes for 68 yards and one touchdown on offense. He led Cardinal Newman High School to a playoff appearance. Redmon also plays basketball, averaging 10.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.9 steals per game last season. He ran an 11.30 second 100-meter dash last year.
The main “downside” is that he plays in a smaller division since his school competes in the 1M. But it's hard to deny his footage because Redmon loves to get the ball and is always moving around the ball and causing turnovers. He plays at all levels of the field and is an above average athlete. Redmon is a steady tackler who can make big hits when needed and is willing to blitz. He's definitely a promising player who could move up in the rankings through his senior season.
Redmon's addition gives Florida State 11 verbal pledges in the #Tribe25. The acquisition lifts the Seminoles from 27th to 23rd in the national rankings as the team continues to grow.
The 6-foot-0, 185-pound safety is considered Florida's No. 1,087 prospect overall, No. 94 S and No. 143 recruit in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports.
