Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse University football team has added a new member to the Class of 2025 who can play multiple positions.
Daniels, a three-star recruit from Norcross, Georgia, announced on Instagram Live Saturday night that he chose Syracuse over North Carolina State and Kansas.
He took official visits to both Syracuse and Kansas, and a visit to North Carolina State was scheduled, but Daniels never made it.
Daniels has played both wide receiver and cornerback and could potentially play either position at SU.
Daniels had 31 catches for 531 yards and five touchdowns during his junior season at Greater Atlanta Christian School, according to the team's MaxPreps page.
Daniels also competes in track and field, winning the 200 meters at the GHSA 5A State Championships in May with a time of 21.36 seconds, according to results from Athletic Net, and also placing third in the 100 meters with a time of 10.74 seconds.
Before Daniels announced his decision, several coaches and family members spoke with him.
“I don't know where your speed comes from, you didn't learn it from me,” his father joked.
The Orange lost two verbal enrollees Saturday morning due to reported academic issues, but even after Daniels' addition, the 2025 class boasts the second-highest number of members in the country at 26.
The class is ranked 25th in the country according to the 247Sports Composite, and the high number of prospects this class has influenced this ranking.
