LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Three Rivers Martial Arts Academy, founded in 1975, held its third annual open house on Saturday.
The academy offers lessons in three forms: Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Judo.
Pamela Meem, owner and director of Three Rivers Martial Arts Academy, said it's a way to get people motivated to exercise.
“Martial arts is like exercise with a purpose, it's great exercise, and at the same time you're learning self-defense techniques and moving up the ranks. It also gives you a way to set goals, which is great. 'It's a great form of activity,' and keep in touch regularly,' Mim said.
We also offer an 8-week women's self-defense course.
