Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles have once again restocked in the transfer portal. They will once again be a competitive program, building on a 13-win season. With many Seminoles players heading to the NFL this offseason, the need to restock is crucial.
Fortunately for Florida State, Norvell's success in the portal has translated to his high school recruiting efforts, as the Seminoles landed the No. 12 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle, according to 247Sports.
But who are the three freshmen who could be impact players in the program's first season?
The first freshman who looks likely to have solid early performances is running back Cam Davis. The four-star recruit is 5-foot-10 and weighs 200 pounds. His body is well-prepared for the next level. Davis, who turned 18 in January, committed to the program for three years prior to enrolling.

Davis has been incredibly successful, committing himself to the program and putting in the time to prepare. He finally arrived in Tallahassee this spring, and many would argue he has more experience at the collegiate level.
It'll be tough to crack the running back rotation, but if any true freshman is up for the challenge, it's Davis. His offseason development will be worth watching before he heads into his first season of college football after a rigorous winter of training and spring football.
Another freshman to watch is tight end Landen Thomas. Once a four-star prospect, Thomas will get a chance to take the field early in his career with the Seminoles. The team lost a talented player in pass-catching guard Jaheim Bell, who is heading to the NFL next football season.
Kyle Morlock will likely take over as TE1, but who will play behind Morlock or alongside him in a tight end duo? Thomas could use preseason training camp to solidify his role as a potential impact player. The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end, like Davis, is getting in shape for the 2024 season.
Finally, four-star defensive back Charles Lester is a player to watch this coming season. At 6-foot-1 and 191 pounds, he is a versatile player who can play both as a defensive back and on special teams.
Of the three freshmen mentioned above, Lester is likely the least impactful player, and while the other two will have bigger opportunities next season, Lester's versatility and potential could shine at any point in the 2024 college football season.
While all three freshmen are still far from reaching their potential at the collegiate level, each has the talent and potential to show for themselves this coming season, and how Norvell and the Seminoles utilize them on the field will be an intriguing aspect of the new year.
